A London-bound Air India plane has crashed in Ahmedabad of India. At least 204 bodies have been recovered from the scene so far and 224 passengers on board have died, according to the authority.
The city's police commissioner told the Associated Press (AP) that no one was rescued alive from the crash site. This means that none of the 242 passengers and crew members on board the plane are alive.
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed deep shock over the heartbreaking incident.
In a condolence message on his verified Facebook page on Thursday, he said, "A heartbreaking incident— a London-bound plane carrying 242 passengers from different countries crashed shortly after taking off from India. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. Let us all stand by them in this time of mourning and offer our heartfelt prayers.”
