Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that the nation does not want a ‘questionable election’. He also expressed his desire for a level playing field for voting.
“If justice, reforms, the July Declaration, and a level playing field for voting are ensured, an election following the roadmap will be possible,” said the Jamaat chief.
He made these remarks on Saturday after completing Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the Tulapur Eidgah in Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar. Afterwards, he exchanged greetings with the people of his village.
Present at the time were Sylhet city Jamaat Ameer Fakhrul Islam and leaders and activists of the party.
“People did not have a chance to vote for three consecutive terms. Now, this time, the new generation of young voters must be given the chance to cast their votes. If the Chief Adviser seeks cooperation, we will extend our support. However, it is crucial that the national crisis comes to an end, ” he added.
