Dr. Zubaida Rahman encourages Young Scientists

The vice president of Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF), Dr. Zubaida Rahman, also the wife of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, has encouraged the country's young generation and young scientists.

She spoke as the chief guest at the 'Virtual Science Fair-2024' prize distribution ceremony at the ZRF office on Friday afternoon. Addressing the children and teenagers as well as young scientists at the event, Dr. Zubaida Rahman said, "I congratulate each contestant for their innovative science projects."

By participating in this event, she spoke publicly at a program in the country again after a long time. Dr. Zubaida Rahman returned to the country with her mother-in-law Khaleda Zia after a long 17 years on May 6. She left Bangladesh for London with her husband Tarique Rahman on September 11, 2008. After that, 17 years passed, but Dr. Zubaida Rahman could not return to the country.

After handing over the prizes to the winners at the Science Fair on Friday, Zubaida Rahman exchanged views with the members of the ZRF Board of Directors Committee and advisors. A video documentary on various activities of ZRF from its inception to the present was shown at the event.

In a short speech, Zubaida Rahman said to the contestants and winners at the fair, “The talent, perseverance and self-reliance of the young scientists are truly extraordinary and have impressed us. I hope that you will be useful in every aspect of your life and make the country shine in the world arena. Seeing your compassion for science, I hope that in the future you will innovate in the world of science and do something for all the people of the world. InshaAllah, we will all have cooperation.”

She said, “If you have any questions in the world of science at any time, you can go to the judges. They have inspired you, shown you the way. There is no end to the practice of science. There is a lot to give to the world through this. I believe you can do it. In the future, you will, God willing, become successful in your respective fields and make Bangladesh's name shine in the world.”

Dr. Zubaida Rahman concluded her speech by thanking everyone.

The event was virtually chaired by ZRF executive director professor Dr. Farhad Halim Doner and moderated by director (program) Dr. Shah Muhammad Aman Ullah, where ZRF Acting executive director professor Dr. Morshed Hasan Khan delivered the welcome speech.

Prizes (laptops) and certificates were distributed among the 17 winners of the science fair.
