Vice-Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, Professor Ali Riaz, has said that the proposed national charter based on national consensus will undoubtedly protect all the rights of the country's citizens.
He said this at the beginning of the discussion of the National Consensus Commission with the United People's Democratic Front at the LD Hall of the Sangsad Bhaban in the capital on Saturday.
Commission members Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, Safar Raj Hossain, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman and special assistant to the Chief Advisor Monir Haider were present in the discussion.
Ali Riaz said that only a democratic state can ensure civil rights, establish the rule of law and ensure justice through an independent judicial system.
He said, “For the first time, an opportunity has been created for all to build a state together. The main goal of the proposals that have been given to political parties by the Reform Commission and made public before the nation is to outline a specific path.”
Professor Ali Riaz also said that this historic moment has been created in exchange for many sacrifices and blood.
“To make this opportunity a success, everyone must actively participate in it. It is expected that all political parties come forward with this aspiration.”
