The investigation agency will submit the investigation report of the case filed against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the massacre during the student uprising on Monday. In addition, the prosecution department will submit a formal complaint to the tribunal in the Chankharpul massacre next week.
The chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, Tajul Islam, expressed this hope in a post on his Facebook profile on Friday.
In the Facebook post, he said, “I hope that the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal will submit the investigation report on the July massacre against Sheikh Hasina to the Chief Prosecutor next Monday. After the investigation report is submitted, the formal trial against Hasina will begin by filing a formal complaint, i.e., a 'formal charge'.
He said, “Investigation reports have already been submitted against senior police officers for the Chankharpul massacre. Formal charges for the murder will be filed this week, and the formal trial for the July massacre will begin.”
