A total of 66 Indian nationals have infiltrated the Matiranga and Panchhari borders of Khagrachhari.
Since 4:30 am on Wednesday, the BGB has detained a total of 66 Indian nationals, 15 through the Matiranga Taindong border, 27 through the Shantipur border of Gomti Union and 24 through the Rupsen Para border of Logan Union in Panchhari, on charges of infiltration.
Acting Deputy Commissioner of Khagrachhari Nazmun Ara Sultana said that as of the latest information, 66 Indian nationals have been infiltrated. The BGB is looking into the matter. They are under their jurisdiction. The local administration and police are in constant contact with the BGB. We are trying to push them back quickly.
On Wednesday morning, 27 Indians were infiltrated through the Shantipur border of the 40th BGB Khedachhara Battalion. After infiltrating, they stayed at the house of Abul Master in Hajipara, Gumti Union. After receiving information from locals, a BGB patrol team arrested them.
The detainees claimed to be residents of Gujarat and were reportedly brought to the border by BSF members via a plane from Gujarat and infiltrated into Bangladesh through the Shantipur border.
