Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has urged both Pakistan and India to show restraint following a series of cross-border clashes on Wednesday.
A conflict would be beneficial for neither side, he said in a Facebook post.
A neutral international probe, and not fighting is the only way to address the recent terrorist attack in India-occupied Kashmir is through, he said.
Dr Shafiqur Rahman also called on relevant parties to develop a permanent solution for ending the sufferings of people in undivided Kashmir.
