Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast a rise in temperatures across the country over the next 24 hours, warning of possible heatwave conditions in some regions.
In its bulletin issued this morning (May 7), the Met Office said that daytime temperatures may increase by 1°C to 3°C, while nighttime temperatures are also expected to rise slightly.
A mild to moderate heatwave may sweep across parts of the country, it added.
The weather is expected to remain mostly dry across most divisions.
However, isolated rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds may occur at one or two places in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
Elsewhere, skies are likely to be partly cloudy with dry conditions prevailing.
Country's maximum temperature recorded yesterday (May 6) was 36.5°C in Baghabari, Rajshahi.
The sun will set today at 6:30 pm and rise tomorrow at 5:20 am in the capital.
