BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has returned home after undergoing treatment in London. After a long 14-hour journey, the BNP Chairperson reached her residence Firoza in Gulshan, Dhaka around noon on Tuesday.
BNP Chairperson's media wing officer Shairul Kabir said that Khaleda Zia reached Firoza at 1:25 pm. At that time, she was accompanied by her two daughters-in-law Dr. Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Sharmila Rahman.
After entering the residence, her personal physician Zahid Hossain and BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir spoke to reporters.
At that time, Zahid Hossain said that Khaleda Zia had made a long 14-hour journey. She expressed her sincere gratitude to those who came to greet her. Besides, she thanked the law enforcement agencies, the current government and the chief advisor for safely reaching her residence.
He said, “Begum Zia expressed deep gratitude to the Qatar government for providing the air ambulance. The Qatar government not only provided the air ambulance, but also ensured all medical services, including bearing the entire cost of the plane, including medicines and nurses.”
He mentioned that the Qatar government has taken this special measure because of Khaleda Zia's global acceptance.
Zahid Hossain further said that by the grace of God, Khaleda Zia has reached Firoza safely. However, she is a little tired due to the long journey.
In response to a question about whether Khaleda Zia's physical condition is suitable for attending the public meeting, he said, “There is no vacuum in the BNP leadership. Many said that BNP would not be found. Tarique Zia's back was broken during the One-Eleven. One leader (Sheikh Hasina) used to say, 'Why doesn't she go yet?' But the irony of fate is, she has left, but the national leader (khaleda) still remains. I thank God.”
He said, “whenever the nation needs it, Khaleda Zia will lead. Besides, Tarique Rahman's leadership will be stronger.”
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters that doctors have told him to take complete rest and sleep. He requested on behalf of the party not to create any disturbance here.
He also requested not to deliver any slogans in front of the house.
