The National Citizen Party (NCP) on Tuesday resumed discussions with the National Consensus Commission, participating in the second day of talks focused on state reform initiatives led by the interim government.
A four-member NCP delegation, headed by member secretary Akhtar Hossain, joined the session at 10:40 a.m. in the LD Hall of the Jatiya Sangsad. The meeting was chaired by Consensus Commission Vice Chairman Prof Ali Riaz.
This round of discussions is part of a broader effort to engage political parties in shaping the future of state governance. The NCP had previously attended talks with the commission on April 18 and submitted its written recommendations on March 24.
The National Consensus Commission, established on February 15, 2025, under the leadership of Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, is tasked with developing reform proposals through multi-party consultation. Since launching its formal dialogue process on March 20, the commission has held meetings with representatives from 25 political parties.
The initiative seeks to reach a unified national stance on state reforms, with the goal of strengthening institutions and governance during the country’s transitional period.
