The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an urgent advisory for Hajj pilgrims scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
In a notification issued Monday, the ministry informed the owners, partners, directors, and chairpersons of Hajj agencies that a VVIP movement — referring to BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia — is expected on the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) road on Tuesday.
Consequently, severe traffic congestion is likely along the airport route, reports UNB.
To avoid delays, all Hajj agencies have been instructed to ensure that their pilgrims arrive at the Hajj camp by 6:00am on Tuesday to avoid potential traffic congestion.
The flights include Saudia Airlines's flight number SV3809 at 12:50pm, and Biman flight numbers BG331 and BG135 at 14:05pm and 16:45pm, respectively.
Additionally, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued special parking guidelines for visitors and journalists to maintain safety and ease traffic flow during the VVIP movement.
