The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh has launched special facilitation measures to simplify the visa process for Bangladeshi nationals seeking medical treatment in China.
The initiative aims to implement key understandings reached during Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus’s official visit to China in March. It is also expected to bolster bilateral cooperation in public health and promote people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
1. Simplified Documentation Requirements
Licensed Bangladeshi travel agencies can now issue guarantee letters in place of authenticated documents such as bank deposit certificates and proof of kinship. This eliminates the need for these documents to be authenticated by Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
2. Dedicated ‘Green Channel’ Services
To fast-track medical visa processing, the Embassy and the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (3rd Floor, Praasad Trade Center, 6 Kemal Ataturk Avenue, Banani, Dhaka) have established dedicated hotlines (Embassy: 02222260103, 01708464809; Visa Center: 02226603261) and a WhatsApp support group (01885041364).
Online applications will be given priority and reviewed immediately upon submission.
A dedicated counter for medical visa applications is now operational at the Visa Center, where applicants can submit required documents without waiting in line.
For urgent medical cases, same-day visa issuance will be available under the “green channel” provision.
3. Streamlined Interview Process
Applicants with scheduled appointments will receive priority interviews without queuing. In cases where in-person attendance is medically inadvisable, a travel agency’s guarantee letter may be used to authorise remote interviews.
Chinese medical institutions offer extensive expertise in diagnostics and treatment for international patients.
The Chinese Embassy encourages more Bangladeshi citizens to seek health check-ups, rehabilitation, and advanced medical care in China.
