National Citizens Party (NCP) is taking to the streets on Friday, demanding a ban on the Awami League (AL), which was ousted from power in a student-public uprising.
The rally is being held at the southern gate of the national mosque Baitul Mukarram in the capital under the initiative of the NCP's Dhaka Metropolitan Branch.
Before the rally, NCP's main organizer (south) Hasnat Abdullah posted a post on his verified Facebook on Friday morning.
In it, he wrote, "Without saying ‘If, but, or’ the genocide-committer Awami League must be banned. Join the protest rally to be held at the southern gate of Baitul Mukarram on Friday at 3 pm."
Hasnat Abdullah urged the general public to attend the rally and protest.
Earlier, last Thursday, Hasnat Abdullah wrote in his verified Facebook post, "I do not consider Chinmoy's bail an isolated incident. Since the beginning of the Chinmoy incident, Indian hegemony has tried to exert unfair influence on this country."
