BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged the government not to reach any deal that go against the interests of Bangladesh.
Mirza Fakhrul made this call at a workers' rally organized in Nayapaltan on Thursday afternoon to mark the historic May Day.
Addressing the interim government, Mirza Fakhrul said, "Please do not make any agreements that go against the interests of Bangladesh by neglecting the political parties and the people."
Mirza Fakhrul said, "Dr. Yunus is a respected person. We have repeatedly requested. Complete the necessary reforms and hold early elections. The reforms that are being talked about today are the first reforms that BNP has brought."
Mirza Fakhrul said, "Our leader Tarique Rahman formed 31 points thinking about reforms even in difficult times. Today, I am demanding from the rally that they (government) immediately bring forward the reforms that the political parties have agreed on and arrange for early elections. Those that were not agreed upon can be discussed and implemented in the next parliament.”
