Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a 24-hour weather forecast, commencing from 9:00 am today (April 29) indicating the likelihood of rain and thunderstorms in several parts across the country.
According to the BMD, a trough of low pressure extends from West Bengal to the North Bay, across the southwestern part of Bangladesh.
Under its influence, rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions.
Additionally, isolated showers may be experienced in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.
Maximum rainfall recorded yesterday (April 28) was 115 mm in Sylhet.
The forecast also suggests that both day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged throughout the country.
On Monday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 36°C in Koyra under Khulna division and in Patuakhali under Barishal division.
The sun will set today at 6:26 pm and rise tomorrow at 5:25 am in the capital.
