Technical Student Movement, the platform of the students of public and private technical educational institutions in the county, has announced a shutdown of all polytechnic institutions all over the country from Tuesday April (29).
The shutdown will be enforced as part of the ongoing movement, said a media release on Monday night.
According to the release, the platform will continue the shutdown program until an outline of its six-point demand is formed.
Students of the polytechnic institutions have been staging protests for several months to meet their six-point. The six-point demand includes --the cancellation of illegal recruitment, improvement of the diploma course curriculum, prioritization of diploma graduates for sub-assistant engineer posts, recruitment of relevant professionals in the management of technical education, formation of a separate ministry for technical education, and establishment of high-quality technical universities.
