The Bangladesh Police is set to inaugurate its annual “Police Week” today (Tuesday).
The four-day event, shorter than the usual week-long programme, will end on May 2. Medals will be awarded to police members in recognition of their good work since August 5, reports BSS.
In addition, the police have undertaken a series of initiatives to become a more people-friendly force, including enhancing logistical support and expanding research activities to restore public trust.
This year's Police Week will commence at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Auditorium in Dhaka. Various activities have already begun within the force in preparation for the event.
Police officials said that the chief adviser will arrive at Rajarbagh in the morning to inaugurate Police Week and distribute medals. Later, an exchange of views with the chief adviser will be held at the Rajarbagh Police Auditorium.
On April 30, the SB will make a presentation at the Police Auditorium in the morning, followed by the CID at 9:15 am, and the RAB at 10 am. Advisers and secretaries from various ministries will also meet with police officials. Presentations will be made by the Tourist Police, PBI, and the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU).
The IG's badge presentation ceremony, a conference of senior police officers, and meetings with citizens from different sectors will be held on May 1.
On May 2, the annual Punak Rally, Ananda Mela, Police Women Welfare Association stall award ceremony, and the closing ceremony will take place.
