BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman said, “Culture and sports are veryimportant along with primary education. In addition to studies, children should be involved in all activities including culture and sports. As a result, they will develop mentally as well as physically.”
He also said, “If you open a newspaper, you will see just the talks of reforms. But BNP has started reforms. Shaheed Zia started the first reforms by digging canals. If BNP comes to power with the people's vote, all the canals of Bangladesh will be dug again and revived. The first task of BNP when it comes to power will be the canal digging program. The rivers will also be dug.”
On Tuesday, Tarique Rahman said these things while joining the BNP's day-long training workshop at the Lalmonirhat District Council Auditorium.
Tarique Rahman joined the workshop virtually as the chief guest in the workshop organized by the Central BNP Training Committee in the last afternoon of the workshop.
In response to various questions from the leaders and activists who participated in the workshop, Tarique Rahman further said, “Although Bangladesh is not a large country in terms of land (in terms of area), it is still very large in terms of population. Just as Lalmonirhat has some literary and cultural characteristics, so do Kurigram, Chattogram, and Kushtia. There are different cultures and traditions in different parts of Bangladesh and some different characteristics. And these characteristics are our tradition.”
He further said that BNP has tried to bring forward the indigenous culture and heritage every time it has had the opportunity to govern the country. We know that in the last 17 years, many cultural workers have lived in hardship. They have lived in hardship due to lack of treatment. When the leader of the country, Khaleda Zia, had the opportunity, many cultural workers were provided supported. Our overall thought is that we will take this culture forward. There will be a cultural aspect in primary education as well. There will be a sports aspect. Along with studies, children should be involved in all activities compulsorily. As a result, they will develop mentally as well as physically.
