Leaders and activists of Dhaka University unit of Jatiyatabadi Chatradal (JCD) formed a human chain on the campus on Monday demanding justice for the murder of Zahidul Islam Parvez, a student of Primeasia University.
The programme was held in front of the Raju sculpture on the DU campus around 1pm.
Speaking at the event, DU Chatradal president Ganesh Chandra Roy Sahos said, “Many of our activists took part in July movement and sacrificed their lives. Parvez was an active participant. But terrorists killed him.”
Claiming that the followers of fascism are still occupying the halls, he said that it will not be enough to limit oneself to forming human chains now.
Fearing that terrorism will be reintroduced into the academic arena, Dhaka University (DU) Chatradal general secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon said, "The students of the private university who forced the fascist Hasina to flee have been killed. Through this, terrorism will be reintroduced into the academic arena. The banner that the entire public respected in the mass uprising to overthrow the murderous dictatorship, the banner that was universal before August 5 has been misused by some people in creating discrimination again.”
