Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul, Adviser on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, noted that while the judiciary has its own set of challenges, judges must strive to perform their duties to the fullest. He also highlighted the need to make the judicial system more accessible.
He said these on Sunday morning at the inauguration ceremony of the “50th Basic Training Course” for assistant judges or equivalent judicial officers held at the Judicial Administration Training Institute.
Calling on judges to stay away from any form of financial corruption, the law adviser emphasized, “Judges have no room for injustice or wrongdoing. There is no connection between having privileges and fulfilling responsibilities. Even without certain benefits, judges must perform their duties.”
He also pointed out that during the Awami League government's tenure, the Judicial Administration Training Institute often hosted individuals who delivered political speeches.
Dr. Asif Nazrul further said that the Judicial Administration Training Institute should be developed in such a way that trainees from other countries in the subcontinent are encouraged to come to Bangladesh for training.
