EC Sanaullah said that the 'proxy voting' system has been recommended for expatriates and this issue will be discussed with political parties.
According to Election Commission sources, although there is no interest in the postal ballot system for expatriates, the idea of testing the online voting system was also being considered. This time, the Election Commission will sit with the concerned parties to get expert opinions on whether the proxy voting system can be implemented or not.
On Monday, a presentation on 'proxy voting' for expatriates was also made in front of the Chief Election Commissioner, four election commissioners, EC secretary, NID wing and other concerned officials.
