Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that the government was not involved in requisitioning five buses from Pirojpur to transport people to Dhaka for the inaugural function of the National Citizen Party (NCP) on Friday.
Pirojpur deputy commissioner helped requisition five buses in response to the request of the leaders of Students Against Discrimination and members of two martyr families,” he said while addressing a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Saturday.
“The press wing talked to the Pirojpur DC regarding the matter and came to know that no fuel cost or travel expenditures were provided by the DC office,” he said.
Alam claimed that the interim government is working to ensure a level playing field for all political parties ahead of the upcoming national election.
“We have noticed an allegation circulating on social media that five buses were requisitioned from Pirojpur for the NCP's inaugural event with the help of the Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner. The government had no involvement in this regard,” he said.
