Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday forecasted rain likely to occur at some places over the two coastal and port divisions but mainly dry weather likely elsewhere over the country for the next 24 hours commenced this morning.
"Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions. The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," according to the forecast that began at 9am on Monday, reports BSS.
Seasonal low lies over the South Bay, extending its trough to the North Bay. A low-pressure area is likely to form over the Southwest Bay and its adjoining area during the next 36 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move slowly nearly westwards towards the Tamil Nadu/Sri Lanka coasts during the subsequent two days.
The country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 34.5 degrees Celsius at Feni and a minimum temperature of 17.7 degrees Celsius was recorded at Tetulia on Monday.
The country's maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am on Monday was recorded at 01 millimetres (mm) at Chattogram and Ambagan respectively.
Night and day temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country. The sun sets at 05.14pm on Monday and rises at 06.12am on Tuesday in the capital.
