Narendra Modi mourns tragic loss of lives in Bailey Road fire

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his heartfelt condolences on the loss of lives in the fire at the Green Cozy Cottage Shopping Mall on New Bailey Road in Dhaka on 29 February, reports Daily Sun.

In a letter addressed to his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Friday Modi also wished speedy recovery to those injured in the fire incident.

He further affirmed that as India stands with Bangladesh in this hour of grief, his thoughts and prayers remain with her (Sheikh Hasina) and the friendly people of Bangladesh, the letter read.

Earlier on 29 February, a deadly fire that ripped through a seven-storey building, housing a number of restaurants, on New Bailey Road, claimed 46 lives and injured many others.
