Seven members of parliament (MPs) took oath as state ministers on Friday evening, reports Daily Sun.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath of office to them at Bangabhaban at 7: 30pm.
With this, the number of cabinet ministers in the government stands at 44.
After the 12th parliamentary election, the government formed a 37-member cabinet, including the prime minister.
The new government will be led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with 25 ministers and 11 state ministers. Within two months, seven more members were added to the cabinet.
The new ministers are: Naogaon-2 MP Md. Shahiduzzaman Sarkar, MP of Rajshahi-5 constituency Abdul Wadud, MP of Chattogram-14 constituency Nazrul Islam Choudhury, Rokeya Sultana, Shamsun Nahar, Wasika Ayesha Khan and Nahid Izahar Khan were elected from the reserved seats.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, other cabinet members, parliament members and high-rank civil and military officials were present on the occasion.
