Ehtasham Reza, Deputy Commissioner of Kushtia, has praised the commendable social activities of Bashundhara Group in uplifting the lives of marginalised communities in line with the government's development agenda.
“Bashundhara Group chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan is widely recognised as a humanitarian and patriotic figure. The entrepreneur has broadened his focus beyond business to embrace humanitarian activities across various sectors. Under his prudent guidance, Bashundhara Shuvosangho has been diligently working to enhance the livelihoods of marginalised communities in different parts of the country,” Reza said, reflecting on the activities of Bashundhara Shuvosangho in Kushtia.
Kushtia, a district neighbouring India, has seen the lives of its distressed population, including women and children, transformed through the multi-dimensional initiatives of Bashundhara Group.
The social interventions encompass educational facilities for children, sewing training centres for empowering women, and libraries to foster reading habits among all segments of the population.
In Kushtia Sadar Upazila, the efforts of Bashundhara Shuvosangho have materialised into housing for homeless families. "These activities are undeniably praiseworthy and a model for others," Reza opined. "I believe that these helpless students will illuminate society, and unemployed women will become self-sufficient, contributing to the vision of Sonar Bangla."
Reza, who personally observed the positive impacts of these social programmes, also expressed hope that Bashundhara Group will intensify its efforts for the marginalisedpeople in Kushtia. He expects the initiatives will alleviate poverty and bolster the welfare of the country.
He also offered complete support from the district administration for the welfare work of Bashundhara Group, expressing gratitude for the nationwide Al Quran recitation programme, patronised by Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir.
This initiative impressed the countrymen and stood as a testament to the company's commitment to the nation's prosperity, he noted.
