Marking the 6th anniversary of the Rohingya influx, various programmes including rallies, meetings, and human chains are being held at the Rohingya camps.
Rohingya leaders said they are holding programmes to meet their demands including safe and secured repatriation to Rakhine state.
Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar Mohammad Mizanur Rahman said Rohingyas have been permitted to hold rallies on a limited scale on the genocide day.
Syed Harun-or-Rashid, Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police and Commanding Officer of the Armed Police Battalion-fourteen assigned to the security of the Rohingya camps said the law enforcement agencies are remaining alert at the camps to avert any untoward incident.
