Chinese President Xi Jinping said his country is against any kind of foreign interference in Bangladesh for its internal unity and stability.
He said China supports Bangladesh for the development and achievement of revival. Beijing also supports Bangladesh in terms of saving its sovereignty, liberty and regional integrity.
Xi was telling Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in bilateral talks on the sidelines of the 15th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg on Wednesday at the Hotel Hilton Sandton.
Chinese state news agency Xinhua published the news.
The Chinese President said China and Bangladesh have a traditional friendship. Both countries have elevated the bilateral relations to strategic cooperative partnerships in 2016.
He called upon Bangladesh to strengthen the Belt and Road Initiative. At the same time, he urged to give the full shape of economic complement between Bangladesh and China. Xi called upon both parties to increase cooperation in various sectors including infrastructure, information technology, renewable fuel, and agriculture.
The Chinese President also emphasized increasing the personal level of communication and deep relations among the people of the two countries alongside cultural development.
Praising China, Sheikh Hasina said the 2016 visit of Xi Jinping to Bangladesh was a milestone in bilateral ties. The relations between Bangladesh and China were made based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal matters. Bangladesh firmly maintains the ‘One China Policy’. Bangladesh applauded China’s important role in keeping regional peace and stability. Bangladesh is ready to strengthen ties with China. Besides, Bangladesh is ready to boost cooperation under BRICS management. Bangladesh believes that the work procedure of BRICS would bring many opportunities for the new development of developing countries.
