Awami League-backed candidate former senior secretary Sajjadul Hasan has been declared victorious unopposed for the by-polls to Netrokona-4.
Returning officer and Mymensingh regional election officer Mohammd Belayet Hossain Chowdhury declared unofficial victory of Sajjadul Hasan on Monday afternoon, reports Daily Sun.
According to district election office in Netrokona, no candidate except Sajjadul Hasan submitted nomination for contesting the by-election in Netrokona-4.
As per the schedule, the last date for submitting nomination was July 25 while Monday (July 31) was the last day for scrutiny of nominations, appeal and withdrawal of candidature.
