Visiting international observers invited by the Election Monitoring Forum (EMF) expressed disappointment on Sunday as BNP refused to meet with the delegation.
In this regard, a member of the delegation Terry L. Isley expressed his disappointment while talking to journalists after a meeting with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, reports banglanews24.com.
He said, "We wanted to have a meeting with BNP. I wanted to hear their concerns about the election. But they did not agree to meet with us. We are disappointed."
Later, Ireland's senior journalist Nick Paul said, "We have met with the Election Commission, the Minister of Home Affairs. The election process was discussed. There is no supervisory system in the constitution of Bangladesh. Therefore, the Election Commission wants to conduct free and fair elections within the framework of the constitution.
