The ruling Awami League (AL) will stage demonstration across the country from 10am to 5pm on Sunday protesting BNP's 'arson terrorism' while the party's all affiliated bodies will also join the programme, reports BSS.
AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the programme following an emergency joint meeting at the party's Bangabandhu Avenue central office this afternoon.
He said demonstration will be staged at every thana in the capital city.
AL leaders, Dhaka city lawmakers, presidents and general secretaries of Dhaka city north and south units of the party and its associate bodies joined the meeting.
Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said BNP again started its fire terrorism as the recurrence of the incidents, taken place in 2013, 2014 and 2015, has begun.
Under the circumstances, AL leaders and activists cannot remain silent, he said.
"BNP is claiming that they are being obstructed to observe their programme.
They are blockading all entry points to the capital. Is it (the country)Tarique Rahman's own property?" he said.
