Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman GM Quader on Sunday said a neutral election is not possible under the current government which the world has observed in the Dhaka-17 constituency by-polls.
“Dark days are coming in the future. Nobody knows what will be happened. On the other hand, the government is in a hard line. They have been telling election must be held as per the Constitution. They (govt) won’t change their stance. But a neutral election is not possible under the current government. The world has observed it in the just concluded Dhaka-17 by-polls,” he said.
GM Quader came up with the observation at a joining function at the party’s Banani office in the afternoon.
Former members of the Tangail Zila Parishad Engineer Liakat Ali and others joined Jatiya Party in the programme.
Alleging that a person voted 10 times in the Dhaka-17 by-polls, GM Quader said there is no people connection in the election. Only 5 per cent of people cast their vote in the polls.
Rest votes came from forgery, he added.
