Young gamers have thrilled with the battle of lights against each other at Toggi Fun World as an exhilarating laser tag tournament began at the theme park on Friday, reports Daily Sun.
Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in Dhaka houses South Asia’s largest theme park for virtual reality gaming.
Contestants in the ‘Warrior7 TAGNess’ tournament have the chance to win big with a laser tag championship worth Tk 1 lakh. There will be held 38 matches in four rounds till the final on August 11.
Laser tag is a recreational multi-player shooting game where participants use infrared-emitting light guns to tag designated targets.
Anwesha Mallick, a student of BAF Shaheen College, thinks the laser tag game brings a warrior experience to the virtual reality platform. “The laser tag is more thrilling than the mobile game as we experience it in real life. It’s a new experience for me,” she said.
Toggi Fun World has laser tag technology with high-tech battlegrounds offering an immersive experience akin to a real-life video game.
Akhtaruzzaman Zubair from Shaheed Police Smrity College said the laser tag tournament is more thrilling compared to other virtual reality games. “We’re waiting for the laser tournament,” he said.
Players participating in the game wearing infrared-sensitive vest devices hit each other with the beam and hide behind the wall in self-defense.
Anika Nawar Chowdhury, a student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), came to Dhaka from Sylhet to participate in the contest.
“There’re huge differences at Toggi Fun World compared to mobile gaming. I think all should shift to indoor games to reduce stress from mobile phones,” she said.
About the tournament, Toggi Fun World Senior Executive Aongon Faria said the laser tag is a thrilling game that helps players increase the boldness of mind.
“Laser tag can give relief from stress and mental pressure to players. We hope the game will become more popular among people from all age groups,” she said.
