Bashundhara Group, the largest industrial conglomerate of the country, is constructing a super shopping mall with cutting-edge architectural engineering inside Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital.

The Engineering and Architect Department of Bashundhara Group started the piling work on the shopping mall -- Bashundhara Bazar Protidin -- on Thursday, said a press release.

High officials of the industrial conglomerate were present on the occasion.

Bashundhara Prefabricated Building Manufacturing Industries Limited (BPBMIL) is implementing the project. As per the project estimate, the shopping mall is expected to start operation in two years.

Bashundhara Bazar Protidin is considered as a celebration of life, a place where joy, curiosity and wonder converge. It embodies the spirit of unity, showcasing the beauty of shared humanity through the exchange of goods, stories and experiences.

The shopping mall, being built on 10 bighas of land in N-Block of Bashundhara Residential Area, will have the reflection of the dreams of all residents with smart facilities of shopping for daily needs.

The six-storey shopping mall has a space of 4 lakh square feet has and a semi basement.

There will be a kitchen market on the basement while the ground floor will accommodate household goods, super shops, pharmacies, cosmetics shops, saloons and beauty parlours, laundry, bakery and sweetmeat shops.

The first and second floors will house ready-made garment stores, tailoring shops, lifestyle items, branded outlets and separate super shops.

The third floor will be designated for jewellery, leather items, accessories and shops for watch and shoes.

The shopping mall will have specialised electronic shops for televisions, computers, fridges, air conditioners and mobile phones on the fourth floor.

In the fifth floor, there will be an indoor food court, gaming zone for children and day care centre to give a relief to the parents while shopping.

Amidst the shopping and culinary delights, the market will also offer moments of respite. Shoppers can take rest at a tranquil food court where the aroma

of freshly brewed tea and coffee, freshly cooked foods and the soothing sound of water fountains create an oasis of calm amidst the bustling energy.

The top floor of the new-generation shopping mall will feature open terse food court and observation tower.

Besides, each floor will have the facilities for tea, coffee, ice cream and juice. To share shopping moments, there will be a special photo booth.

Bashundhara Bazar Protidin will be covered by complete entry and access denial system, access control system, state-of-the-art HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) system which based on the condensation of shoppers will supply ample fresh air to keep the shoppers cool all the time.

For the first time in Bangladesh, Bashundhara Group will introduce meat and fish processing in automated machine to ensure food safety. Besides, the shopping complex will have the facilities to wash vegetables. There will be a multi-level car parking for 300 automotive units at the market.

The market will have activation facility on the ground floor of the market for introducing new products.
