Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former lawmaker from Pabna-4 constituency and freedom fighter Manjur Rahman Biswas.
In a condolence message on Thursday, Momen said Manjur Rahman worked for the welfare of the people throughout his life as a patriot and dedicated politician.
The Foreign Minister prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Manjur Rahman breathed his last at Square Hospital in the capital on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment there.
He was 74.
He left behind his wife, a son, a daughter and lots of well-wishers to mourn his death.
