Six people were killed in a head-on collision between a private car and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Khagail of Sylhet on Thursday morning.
One of the deceased was identified as Kazi Amir Uddin, a teacher of Anwar High School and College, while identities of the others could not be known immediately.
KM Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gowainghat Police Station, said the accident occurred around 8:30 am when the microbus and CNG-run auto-rickshaw fell into the road side ditch after a head-on collision, leaving five people dead on the spot and three wounded.
Of the injured, one died on the way to Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital, he added.
