The body of Awami League’s Kishoreganj district unit Industries and Trade Affairs Secretary Badal Rahman was recovered from a pond in Sadar upazila of the district on Sunday morning, reports UNB.
Rahman was also former president of the district Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to the deceased’s family, he left the house around 8 pm yesterday but didn’t return.
Locals spotted the body floating in the pond of Bepari Bari in the city’s Sholakia area around 9 am.
Informed, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the body, said Sadar Model Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Abu Daud, adding that the body was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Mohammad Russel Sheikh, superintendent of the district police, said an investigation is on, and actions will be taken as per the law.
