65 tonnes of green chilli enter through Bhomra port

Six trucks carrying around 65 metric tonnes of green chilli entered the country through Bhomra land port from India on Monday, reports BSS. .

On Sunday, seven trucks carrying around 70 metric tonnes of green chilli entered through the port, general secretary of Bhomra C&F Agent Association Maksud Khan said.

He said due to import of green chilli, prices of the essential kitchen item came down in the country.

Satkhira Bhomra Land Port sources said import cost of green chilli is Taka 80 to Tk 85 per kilogram including duty and it is possible to sell per kilogram chilli for Taka 100.

Maksud Khan said price of green chilli is stable in market and it will reduce further.
