President Donald Trump says he asked his Chinese counterpart Xi not to supply weapons to Iran and that Xi replied he was not doing so, reports Al Jazeera.
“I had heard that China’s giving weapons to, I mean – you’re seeing it all over the place – to Iran,” claimed Trump in an interview with Fox Business.
“And I wrote him a letter asking him not to do that, and he wrote me a letter saying that essentially he’s not doing that.”
US media outlets have reported that US intelligence indicated China was preparing to ship advanced weaponry to Iran.
