Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said negotiations with the US cannot begin until two key conditions are met: the implementation of a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of frozen Iranian assets, reports Al Jazeera.
“Two of the measures mutually agreed upon between the parties have yet to be implemented: a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of Iran’s blocked assets prior to the commencement of negotiations,” wrote Ghalibaf in a post on X. “These two matters must be fulfilled before negotiations begin.”
Meanwhile, Iran’s Armed Forces have their “fingers on the trigger” due to repeated “breaches of trust” by the US and Israel, the Central Headquarters of Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya said, according to Tasnim news agency.
The military body added it would not give up on the Strait of Hormuz which Iran has assumed control if.
