A US-made Patriot air defence system has been seen on a road in eastern Turkiye after Ankara said it would be deployed near a NATO radar base, according to video broadcast by Turkish media.
Footage from Malatya province showed a Patriot missile launcher travelling along a highway earlier Wednesday, reports Al Jazeera.
The Defence Ministry said the system would be stationed near the Kurecik base, which provides key early warning radar data for NATO.
According to Reuters news agency, the base helped detect two Iranian ballistic missiles that headed towards Turkiye over the past week. Iran has denied targeting Turkiye and says it is not at war with regional countries.
