Lebanon’s Ministry of Social Affairs said about 780,000 people have registered as displaced since the escalation began, including roughly 120,000 currently sheltering in official government-run facilities.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) evacuated personnel from the border town of Alma ash-Shaab on Tuesday, reports Al Jazeera.
The largely Christian town lies along the frontier with Israel. Residents had refused to leave, despite repeated forced evacuation threats issued by the Israeli army.
