Putin gives 'unwavering support' to Iran Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a statement provided by the Kremlin, gave his "unwavering support" to new Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. 

The Russian leader said he was confident Mojtaba would continue the elder Ali Khamenei's work "with honor" and unite the Iranian people "in the face of severe trials." 

Putin confirmed "unwavering support for Tehran and solidarity with our Iranian friends."
