The UN children’s agency says it wants to get all of the 650,000 school-aged children in Gaza back into classrooms and in-person learning, reports Al Jazeera.
But the job ahead is “immense”, said Tess Ingram, the agency’s spokesperson.
“We need more space. We’ve got to clear the massive amounts of rubble that now cover large parts of Gaza and make sure that there are no unexploded ordnance that present a risk to children,” Ingram said.
“We need to erect temporary structures … and repair damaged classrooms,” she added.
