Iranian nuclear scientist Sedighi Saber was killed alongside 11 members of his family during an Israeli assassination attack shortly before the Iran-Israel ceasefire took effect late on Monday.
The attack took place in Astaneh Ashrafieh, a northern Iranian city near the Caspian Sea, Iran’s English-language station Press TV reports.
A family photo of the scientist published by Press TV showed the family members who were killed, including elderly people, several children and women.
According to reports, Israel targeted at least 14 Iranian nuclear scientists during its 12 days of attacks on the country.
