Israeli military launches probe after sending out false missile alert

The Israeli military mistakenly sent out a mass text alert today telling citizens to shelter before incoming missile sirens, according to Israel’s Arutz Sheva media.

The military acknowledged the false alarm, which it attributed to a “technical malfunction” during “internal system checks”.

“There is no security incident, and the event is under investigation,” the military said in a statement.
