Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has promised that the “punishment will continue” against Israel, in his first statement on social media after the US joined the Israeli attacks on Iran.
“The Zionist enemy has made a big mistake, committed a big crime; it must be punished and it is being punished; it is being punished right now,” Khamenei said in a statement posted on X, reports Al Jazeera.
The post was accompanied by an image of a burning skull that bears the Star of David against the backdrop of burning buildings.
Khamenei's statement comes after the United States carried out ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’ to target three nuclear sites in Iran - Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.
