Israel has ordered the evacuation of 3,30,000 people from central Tehran as its aerial offensive on Iran enters its fourth day, targeting military sites and key infrastructure. The conflict has intensified, prompting global alarm and raising fears of full-scale war.
A dramatic moment unfolded live on Iranian television when an anchor fled mid-broadcast after explosions hit near the state-run TV headquarters. The station later confirmed four bombs struck its facility, injuring some staff and forcing a temporary halt in live programming.
Later Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stark warning: “IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON,” he wrote, urging, “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Trump would cut short his G7 visit in Canada to return to Washington.
Israel says strikes have set back nuclear program
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed the airstrikes have “pushed back” Iran’s nuclear program by a “very, very long time,” and said he is in regular contact with Trump. Since Friday, 224 people in Iran have been killed, according to reports. Israel says its attacks are essential to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
While Iran maintains its nuclear program is peaceful, the International Atomic Energy Agency warns the country now has enough enriched uranium to produce multiple bombs. In response, Iran has launched over 370 missiles and hundreds of drones at Israel, killing 24 and injuring more than 500, according to Israeli sources.
Israel claims ‘full aerial superiority’ over Tehran
Israel declared “full aerial superiority” over Tehran, destroying more than 120 missile launchers and two Iranian fighter jets, according to military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin. Israeli jets also struck Quds Force command centers across Tehran.
Explosions rock Israeli cities
Iranian missile strikes hit Tel Aviv, Petah Tikva, and Haifa, killing three workers at a Haifa oil refinery. A missile also landed near the U.S. consulate in Tel Aviv, causing minor damage.
No sign of conflict letting up
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi signaled openness to U.S.-mediated ceasefire talks, saying, “We will stop if they stop.” Iran reported 1,277 injured and imposed fuel rationing. Human rights groups estimate over 400 deaths, including 197 civilians, surpassing official counts.
