IDF Chief Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin on Monday announced that the air force has destroyed a third of Iran's ballistic missile launchers, 120 in total, Jerusalem Post and Al Jazeera reported.
“This amounts to one-third of the surface-to-surface missile launchers possessed by the Iranian regime,” Effie Defrin said in a televised statement.
Each launcher could have fired dozens of missiles over the course of the current war.
Iran was only able to fire around half of the missiles it had intended to fire overnight, said Defrin.
After days of attacks on Iranian air defences and missile systems, the Israeli army said its aircraft now control the skies from western Iran to Tehran.
“Now we can say that we have achieved full air supremacy in the Tehran airspace,” said Defrin.
