Israeli President Isaac Herzog said that they have experienced a “very sad and difficult morning” after the Iranian missile strikes killed at least ten people and injured dozens more, reports Al Jazeera.
Denouncing what he described as “criminal Iranian attacks”, Herzog said in a post on X that he would pray for the wounded to recover and for the Israelis who are still missing to be found.
Israeli media outlets said dozens of people were reported missing after a strike in Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv.
Iran launches missiles at targets across Israel early Sunday, including the cities of Haifa and Tel Aviv, killing at least 10 people, according to medics and media reports.
The attacks came after Israeli forces bombed civilian and energy infrastructure across Iran, igniting a fire at the Shahran oil facility in Tehran. The Israeli military says it targeted sites “related to the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons project”.
